I have neglected our blog. My last post was in January....sheesh! It's a bit too much work for me to catch up all of those months, so I'll just highlight a few things.
Landon's first grade field trip was to the Dallas Arboretum. It was a bit toasty, but we had a really good time.
As a very special end-of-the-year treat, Bo picked Landon up from school on his motorcycle. One of our friends captured a couple of these pictures for us. Landon was thrilled, to say the least!
Our gym has a water park, which we frequent A LOT during the summer.
We spent a weekend in Glen Rose, TX. We visited Fossil Rim, which is a drive-thru wildlife center. It's a surprisingly beautiful 9-mile course through the hill country and we hand-fed countless animals. The kids LOVED it, and so did the adults! Then on Sunday we took them to Dinosaur World, which showcased over 100 life-size dinosaurs and offered a fossil dig for the kids.

The Long-Awaited House
For some who have asked and for my out-of-town family, I will post some pictures of our house. Most of you know the story with this home and the excruciating and exhausting journey this has been. We still have a battle ahead of us, but at least we can fight that battle under our own roof. I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have our own home again, our family space, our retreat.
You can see from the pictures that we don't have much on the walls, not a ton of décor, and a lack of furniture. It's a little bare, but new things will come with time. You'll have to forgive me as I took some of the indoor pictures when the sun was setting. We don't have blinds (or paper shades) on the west side of our home yet, so the sun was just pouring in and makes for subpar pictures. You get the general idea though. And when I took a few of the front of our home, the set had set and, again, the lack of light is obvious.
The front of our home...
Entry and Front Door...
Looking out back and our outdoor fireplace...
The front door, formal dining and entry area...
Kitchen...
Living...
Breakfast Nook and Drop Zone...
Guest Bath...
Utility Room that opens to the master closet...
Master Bedroom and Bathroom...
Boys' Hallway with built-in storage, their "ruler" growth chart, and a sweet "Brothers" sign that my mom gave us...
We fed carrots to our neighbor's horses. We roasted marshmallows. And we took some random silly pictures. Kudos to my hubby for having impeccable timing with the camera! It was a nice ending to a fun day of 4-wheeler riding, playing king of the mountain on our mound of dirt and making Celina's best mud pies!
