The Boys' Rooms

Aahhhh.....we are done with the boys' rooms, or mostly anyway. I started early and wanted to finish early. The stress of 9 birthdays before the end of the year, tracking down a little boy's Halloween costume (of which I am against...more to come), finishing Christmas shopping before most people even begin, holiday decorating (this is a must), and training co-workers to support my portfolio while out on maternity leave is plenty!
Landon's furniture is now in Rock's room and Landon has all new furniture. He's pretty proud of it and really seems to enjoy sleeping in his big boy bed. My favorite part is being able to lay in bed with him and read books. This pregnant lady doesn't get up from the floor very easily and, despite Landon's great efforts, just isn't much help. I still need to find a cute fabric and make him some new curtains, but other than that, his room is done.
And then there's Rock, who lives in a world of hand-me-downs and doesn't even know it. He inherited his brother's furniture, who inherited it from me. There is just one remnant from my childhood in a drawer of one of the dressers, a stamp of one of those moments when I thought I was really going to leave my mark in this world. Instead, I simply left a blue ink inscription of "Kara wuz here." The dresser drawers are full of clothes, washed and ready for our little angel. I'm so thankful we kept all this stuff....crib bedding, swings, exersaucer, vibrating chair, bathtub, glider, changing table, car seat, stroller, clothes, bottles, and much more. It's all there. Caleb's room is complete, with the exception of a few pictures to add to frames.
I even got a new momma-mobile to comfortably hold a booster seat, a car seat, and a few others. It feels good to be ahead of the game. Birthday and Christmas shopping, here I come!
