We originally had reservations at this lovely house on the beach in Gulf Shores, AL. However, BP's oil mishap completely derailed that vacation. Since there were so many of us, we just couldn't take a chance on the oil spill spoiling our beach fun. Instead we headed to Pigeon Forge, TN. Although it wasn't the beach vacation we were so hoping for, it was still a wonderful destination. And, as always, it was delightful to see my family. Our condo itself was beautiful, not to mention the view and its surroundings. It was a neighbor to a very pretty golf course. That's what Bo tells me anyway. He played the course one morning and said it was just gorgeous. We toured Gatlinburg, visited the Smoky Mountains, played putt-putt, saw "Eclipse" (a few of us anyway), went to Dollywood and Splash Country, ate lots of yummy food, played some games, and just enjoyed each other's company. I love my family so much and it's always a delight to see them. I do regret that we weren't able to enjoy a pretty beach and give Landon his first experience of miles of sand. We'll get there one of these days. We've even thought about taking a weekend trip to Galveston just to quench our thirst for the beach. We shall see!

Kara, you guys should take a long weekend down in Port Aransas. We went about a year ago and I can't stop thinking about it this Summer! It's better than Galveston, in my opinion. So much fun!
