1950 Was a Good Year

My dad celebrated 60 years on October 21st. I can only assume he anticipated the normal family dinner at a favorite local restaurant. Instead, his mother and sister, Wendi, came down from Tennessee. He came home from work on Friday to be utterly surprised by their presence! It was absolutely wonderful and I'm sure it was the best birthday gift he could ask for. A little surprise birthday dinner was in store for him on Saturday. That, too, was quite a shock for him! We really had a fantastic weekend, and I was so thrilled to have my grandmother and aunt there with us.
