Our First Family Vacation in a Long Time

We haven't had a true family vacation since Landon was born. Sure, we've done some traveling, but it's always been with family or friends. While we've loved those trips, our own little adventure was long overdue and it turned out to be one delightful journey.
We stayed at The Margaritaville Beach Hotel on Pensacola Beach. This place was fabulous and we plan to stay there again.





Those sugar-white sandy beaches were amazing! The water was cool and refreshing. Due to his slight fear of being dozed by a wave, Landon didn't enjoy the water so much. He did, however, LOVE the sand. We built sand castles, laid in the sand, buried Landon in the sand, and searched for sea shells. Bo found the best sea shells.









We visited the Pensacola Naval Base. We weren't allowed to carry Rock up the Lighthouse stairs, so Bo and I made separate trips with Landon. I learned that I've developed a slight fear of heights. Actually, I think it was the height combined with a very small space. Landon was such a champ. He climbed the 178 steps twice and had no fear whatsoever.










The Land Shark - Landon's absolute favorite part of our trip. The Land Shark was on the same property as our hotel. There was a restaurant/bar that was completely open so you could enjoy the wonderful gulf breezes. There were several hammocks, misting stations, water sprayers, sand "mountains", comfy adirondacks, a fire pit, and really good live music every night.















Here are more miscelaneous pictures from the trip. Most of these are just cute little moments with our boys in the hotel room. Have I ever said how much we LOVE these guys?!! They make life so good.

Daddy Day 2011

I wanted to share some of the decent pictures I got of our boys. I selected one and had it enlarged and put on a canvas wrap for one of Bo's Father's Day gifts. Remind me not to take photos during Rock's nap time on a 98 degree sunny afternoon! Little one cried while big one stared off in space. Little one sucked on his fingers while big one dropped his sign. Little one looked at anyone but me while big one picked his nose.
That daddy of theirs is worth every bit of the effort. I was truly blessed to snatch up Bo and marry him. And I had no idea what a fantastic father he would make one day. He gives his all to our children and to our marriage. Landon and Rock will always have a wonderful example of what a husband and father should be like. I have immense and infinite love for you, Bo. Happy Daddy Day!

A Birthday Party in the Country

I mentioned Charlie in Landon's graduation post. They were buds from the first day of school. Even on days when Landon didn't have much to say about school, he always had something to say about Miss Charlie. She turned 4 a couple weeks ago (yes, a younger woman) and had a fun little birthday party....country-style.

Our Graduate

Landon Cole has officially graduated from the 3's program at Wesley Christian Preschool. I personally think all these "graduations" are a little silly. We celebrate each of the preschool years, kindergarten, the end of elementary school, the end of middle school and finally the grand finale, high school. It just seems like the high school graduation loses some of its special meaning when they've already been through 7 other ceremonies over the years. Anyhoo, I attended, I clapped, I cheered, I took pictures, and this momma quietly shed a few tears. Maybe these things are more for the mommies and daddies? I'm an emotional person, especially when it comes to my children. I don't think I was quite this way before Landon came along. He can accomplish the most mundane task and I fill up with pride. Add cute little bumblebee antenna and sing a cute little bumblebee song (like they did at their graduation ceremony) and the smiles and tears just flow. I love him immensely. My cup runneth over.
